Starting from a historical analysis of ëthe commonsí, the Marxist autonomist scholars and activists Silvia Federici and George Caffentzis will look on the current struggles in the time of economic crisis. What can the role of ëthe commonsí be today? And how could a new feminist vision of communism look like? What are the potentialities of the new Zero-work and debt-strike initiatives? And how are new forms of social reproduction emerging in response to the crisis?

Silvia Federici is a Scholar, teacher, and activist from the radical autonomist feminist Marxist tradition. She has written books and essays on philosophy and feminist theory, women's history, education and culture and on a feminist reconstruction of 'the commons'.

George Caffentzis is a political philosopher, activist and autonomist Marxist. He is a Professor at the University of Southern Maine.
