Radiocinema on Body Protest. With podcast and visuals, the podcast will show how people from different parts of the world use their bodies in various ways to protest against power structures.

By combining interviews with different activists, with images of their acts, the podcast will give an insight into the struggles of people and the power of their bodies. It will reveal the oppressive conditions of different societies, and the danger people face when they resist with their bodies. Also, it will show peoples’ transformative and creative power and the strength of overcoming physical pain.
The radio presentation will, among others, include interviews with:

- Maria Kulikovskaya, a Ukrainian feminists activist and artist whose focus on the female body, seeks to challenge the patriarchal society, and more recently the Russian occupation of Crimea.

- Petr Pavlensky, a Russian activist who is using self-inflicting pain to reveal how the state is disciplining society like a prison.

- Ahmet Bakier, a Kurdish Syrian refugee who did a hunger strike in front of the Danish Parliament in 2010.

- Jan-Ulrich Sobisch, a professor in Tibetology at the University of Copenhagen, who will talk about the history and problems of self-immolation in Tibet.

After the screening, the artist Maria Kulikovskaya will be present to answer questions and talk about her experiences as a body protester.
