Aarhus siger nej til racisme: Opstartsmøde

Flygtningekrisen, nationalistiske kræfters fremgang og en økonomi, der har svært ved at slippe fri af krisen, udgør tilsammen en sprængfarlig cocktail, som kræver et politisk modsvar

I København og Odense er en række organisationer og foreninger derfor gået sammen for at markere den internationale aktionsdag mod racisme 19. marts. Lad os gøre det samme i Århus! 

Med en måned til 19. marts, er det nødvendigt, at de organisationer, som aktivt vil tage del i at forme kampagnen og bygge demonstrationen, snarest mødes for at planlægge, hvordan vi gør 19. marts til en succes.

Vores udgangspunkt er at finde et bredt politisk grundlag og en formel for samarbejde, som alle organisationer kan se sig selv i. Derfor er der endnu intet udover datoen, der er 100 % fastlagt. 

På mødet lægges op til diskussion af bl.a.

- det politiske indhold på demonstrationen og hvordan det udtrykkes i, talere, paroler etc.

- mobilisering (materiale, plakater, flyers, presse)

- andet praktisk (f.eks. rute, lyd, økonomi)

- valg af styregruppe og kommunikationsgruppe

- andre anti-racistiske aktiviteter

Vi håber at se så mange som muligt til mødet.

Samtidig arbejder aktivister også i Schweiz, Spanien, Katalonien, Grækenland, Holland, Polen og England på at bygge demonstrationer i deres respektive lande d. 19. marts. D. 6. februar vedtoges på en konference i London nedenstående grundlag i London. Det står selvfølgelig os frit for, om vi vil benytte samme grundlag.

CALL FOR 19TH OF MARCH, INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ACTION AGAINST RACISM AND FASCISM*

Across Europe we are witnessing an unrelenting racist offensive against refugees, Muslims, Jews and migrant workers. Thousands of refugees are stuck in squalid conditions not fit for humans without proper shelter.

The racist reaction against refugees is leading to a rise in racist, Islamophobic and anti-Semitic attacks. In Europe Austerity has meant a fall in living standards for the 99%. Refugees, Muslims and migrant workers are wrongly scapegoated for this.

In the 1930s it was the Jews scapegoated for the economic hardship during the Great Depression. We have been here before and know where this can lead. We stand against all forms of oppression: racism, sexism, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism homophobia and fascism.

We oppose Europe of fences, concentration camps , racism and interventions in Middle East, Africa and Asia We call on all progressive people in Europe, that think all human beings should be treated equally, with respect and dignity, to march in solidarity to commemorate UN Anti-Racist Day on Saturday 19 March.
