Imprisoned activists in Spain in need of support!

The 13th of november last year, the police raided a flat in Barcelona, taking four people.      A fifth was taken on the way home.Already the same day, the media put out names and pictures of the five people arrested, and the footage from the police was released on the TV and the internet, together with what is supposed to be evidence: blurred footage from surveillance cameras, that "proves", that two of them were in Zaragoza the same day a bomb was placed in the cathedral there.

The same two persons have earlier been one year in prison in Chile, waiting for trial for being involved in "Caso Bombas" but was finally found not guilty, because of total lack of evidence. This has of course been feeding the massmedia and has resulted in articles such as The anarchists are the new Al-Qaida, The anarchist are copying the organizing-structures of Al-Qaida etc.

The chilenean police has thanked the spanish police for arresting the "terrorists" and in general the undercover police, has been increasing their presence around anarchist social centres and demonstrations. The five people are suspected of being a part of a terrorist organisation, serious damage and instigation of serious damage.

Three of the five was released after a couple of days, but forced to show up once a week for control. Mónica and Francisco are still imprisoned without charges, waiting for a trial that still has no date. They are allowed to have visitors but Francisco is isolated from the other prisoners and is in extra need of support. Activists and friends from Barcelona are visiting them every weekend but the two prisons are in Madrid and Cordoba and every trip back and forth costs around 200 euro. There is an acute need of economic support, to pay lawyers and to be able to continue visits to the prisons.

You can write to them here:
